ALMOST everything you need to know
Hi, I’m Elinah, an 18 year old writer living in the UK in the county of Essex and the author of iRecover. I have leapt from buildings, relationships and self preservation trusting nothing but performing and paintbrushes to keep my life on track. I’m a performing arts college student with major talent and creativity that’s one of a kind. I have visited 8 different countries, mastered 10 different accents and dialects, working towards attending Drama School in 2013 or 2014 and I think Rubicon Guava should be the face of quench thirsting water label.
Oh, and I have bipolar disorder.
I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar type-I. I may have rapid cycling too. Need to get that checked over. I havent started treatment properly yet, I’ve just recently been diagnosed and now I’m getting a second opinion. I like to call that in denial accuracy.
iRecover is my way of enlightening others on the topic of bipolar disorder, and for people to see how bipolar affects me on a daily basis. So I write day to day so you can see that first hand. It’s honesty aims to put the reader inside a brain suffering from mental illness enhancing better understanding of it. Here I write about depression, mania, coping, understanding, hope, humanity and impact, accompanied by advice for those who need it and find comfort in it.
I hope my writing will allow people to truly appreciate what the mentally sick experience and ultimately lead to greater understanding and respect, as well as reduce the fear people show around the mentally ill and stick the word stigma in the bin.
I look forward to the day when we can cross through different worlds in wardrobes, breathe with the fishes and run faster than a vampire on a good day.
